The Strength to Feel.

The world will say that tears are weak,

And tell the heart to hide its pain.

To keep the words one does not speak,

And stand alone within the rain.

But holding in the heavy tide,

Is what will break a soul at last.

There is no place for truth to hide,

When all the doors are locked so fast.

To sit within the hurt and stay,

Takes more than acting like it’s fine.

To face the dark and gloomy day,

And walk along a jagged line.

The heart that feels the deepest ache,

Is one that lives a life so real.

The very bonds that start to break,

Are proof of strength in all you feel.

Day 108 / 365

Stop pretending you’re okay when you’re not.

Somewhere along the way, people started thinking that showing emotion is a weakness.

They think if you cry or open up, you are "soft."

But what is actually weak is bottling everything up,

And acting like nothing affects you.

That is what breaks people over time.

It takes real strength to be honest,

To sit with your emotions,

And to refuse to run away.

Crying doesn’t make you weak; it means you’re processing.

It means you’re human.

The same heart that feels pain deeply,

Is the one that will eventually experience life on a whole new level.
