The Regretful Chapter.

I never meant to cloud your sky,
Or be the shadow on your page.
To bring a tear into your eye,
Or leave a scar upon the stage.
If looking back brings only pain,
And memories you wish to hide.
If all I brought was cold and rain,
To turn the shifting of the tide.
I never wanted to be the threat,
Or cause the heart to break in two.
To be the name of your regret,
Is something that I hate to do.
If meeting me was dark and gray,
A bitter piece of how you grew.
I only have these words to say:
I am so deeply sorry to you.
Day 139 / 365
If meeting me was a bad part of your story, then I am sorry.
It is a devastating realization when you look at someone you cared for,
And worry that your chapter in their life did more harm than good.
You never set out to be the villain, the mistake, or the regret in someone else's timeline.
You wanted to bring light, but instead, you left a shadow.
Saying sorry doesn't rewrite the pages or erase the hurt,
But it is the only closure left to offer.
It is the quiet admission that you wish you could have been a better part of their journey,
Even if the only way to help them heal now is to walk out of the story entirely.
