The Lesson No Child Deserves.

Too loud, too much, too far to reach,

A child unheld, with none to teach.

The love that stayed was not the same,

Just echoes carved without a name.

The smiles were earned with aching grace,

Approval danced just out of place.

A heart once open, soft and wide,

Learned early how to shrink and hide.

Not built for hands that needed ease,

Too many left without a please.

The lesson came before the age,

Some souls just don’t fit on the page.

Yet even walls can't stop the flame,

Though none may stay, it burns the same.

Unloved, not broken, just unseen,

A story lost between the screen.
