Begging The Stars for Warmth

Yearning hums through empty space,
A tender wound that hides from light.
Desire for just one embrace,
For love to hold the hollow tight.
The world is quick to speak, not hear,
And kindness drips then fades away.
Unseen by those who draw too near,
Unfelt though calling night and day.
No soul to clutch the silent ache,
No arms to meet a spirit bare.
Just masks that smile for smiling's sake,
No truth, no bond, no one to care.
Yet something stirs where all seems lost,
A fragile spark through darkened flame.
Alone, the heart still pays the cost,
And still, it dares to feel the same.
